I am the founder, operator, and lead makeup artist of The Red Stiletto. I have been in the beauty and entertainment industry since the age of three and I always knew that I wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself; and being a business owner is just that!
I worked hard to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatrical Performing Arts, an Associate’s Degree in Business Management, and a Professional Modeling Certification. So, I genuinely do understand what it’s like on both sides of the camera.
While in college, I started working for Mac Cosmetics and my business grew organically, as clients started approaching me for services outside of the counter. That’s when I knew; this was it! I was truly destined for a career in the beauty industry.
I am now a Certified Airbrush Makeup Artist and was lucky enough to be 1 of just 10 students to complete a course instructed by Celebrity Makeup Artist Cory Bishop. Cory has traveled the world working with magazines, celebrities, and numerous designers. These include: Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Catherine Zeta Jones, Rene Zellweger, and Victoria’s Secret; just to name a few.
Since then, I have been the featured makeup artist for several magazines and catalogs; including Wedding Day, First for Women, Fort Wayne Wedding, Matilda Jane, and Shindigs and Stumps Party; among others. I was also the chosen makeup artist for the America’s Next Top Model auditions Cycle 16.
I believe that true beauty is on the inside and that the way we look should be a reflection of that. I’m all about clean palettes with pops of color and fun additions. Makeup should highlight your best features, but not overtake them. I am blessed to say that this is my full-time job, while so many others in the industry just freelance in their spare time. I contribute my success to really taking an interest in my clients and getting to know them. The more connected we are, the easier it is to bring their inner personality to the surface. Then, I can create a look, just for them, that showcases their best self.
Not only do I have extensive knowledge in make-up application, I also have training in flash photography, stage lighting, and filmography. This allows my team and I to create beautiful and unique looks no matter what the occasion. You will look flawless in your photos/videos and stunning at your event. Nothing brings me more joy then to put my creative skills to work and place the finishing touches on the start of your special day. Keep reading below to learn all about my amazing senior team!
Often times it’s true; our mom does know what’s best for us. After attending a traditional 4-year college and deciding that it might not be for me, my mom suggested I enroll in Cosmetology school. I excelled quickly when I realized that my creative background sprang to the forefront, using hair as my medium.
After working 13+ years as a Cosmetologist, I can honestly say that I still love going to work each day. In all those years, I have styled around 500 weddings, numerous film productions and photos shoots, been featured in several magazines and catalogs, and completed several thousand haircuts and color services. Most recently, I have become a Certified Surface Educator, teaching others in my field the ins and outs of how they can transform their own guest’s hair with certified organic botanical-based products.
My favorite thing about the beauty industry is how I can transform someone’s day in just a couple of hours. I want to develop a deeper relationship with you, the guest, and create a look that really compliments your lifestyle. My love for education means that you will be getting the latest and greatest the industry has to offer. When I’m not behind the chair, you will often find me attending classes and webinars on upcoming trends and products. And on my days off, you can find me running my 3 children around, singing on my worship team at church, or traveling with my husband. My number one goal in life is to laugh often. That being said, be prepared for a fun-filled experience, loaded up with the industry’s top knowledge while you are in my chair. I want you to leave feeling amazing and anticipating your next visit. Schedule your appointment with me today to learn how you can be living your best hair day every day! I can’t wait to meet you!
The beauty industry has always fascinated me, along with make-up itself. As a young girl, I couldn’t believe how quickly a little make-up could transform the way someone looked and felt. Over the last decade, I have used magazines and television to develop my skills and have personally spent hours in front of the mirror, with make-up, working to define what beauty is to me. I have found that beauty, to me, is freedom and confidence. The freedom to be whomever you want to be—the confidence to believe in yourself and put your best foot forward. I am very driven and work hard to be the best version of myself; to provide an amazing experience for my guests.
I earned my Cosmetology license and graduated as Salutatorian of my class in 2010 and went on to achieve my certification as a Master International Make-Up Professional in 2013. I also became a Certified Airbrush Makeup Artist in 2015. I highly value continued education and receive training from Senior Mac Pro artists several times a year to keep me up to date on the latest tricks and trends. I earned my Mac Cosmetics Makeup Artist Certification and False Eyelash Application Certification while working for the company in 2018. Most recently, I have become Babe Eyelash Extension Certified and Elleebana Eyelash Lifting and Tinting Certified to meet all your beauty needs.
Every woman has her own definition of beauty. Each of us are unique and should feel beautiful inside and out. I strive to bring that personal definition of beauty out in every one of my guests. From the organic “no make-up” look, to the dramatic and glamorous look, I use my passion for beauty to bring out the best in whomever I am working with. I love to meet my guests and get to know them, collaborating together to create a vision is so inspiring to me. I take so much pride in my work, and always try to add my personal touch, while keeping it true to the guest.
We all have different preferences when it comes to the areas we like to enhance and the colors we like to wear. I take the time to get to know your daily routine, so that I can understand how you feel most confident and the areas you would most like to focus on. While in my chair, I strive to make you feel as comfortable as possible by explaining the process the entire way and defining what will give you the best results. I genuinely enjoy sharing the knowledge I have gained over the years and love sharing helpful tips if you are struggling with your routine at home.
I have had the opportunity to work at The Red Stiletto for the past 6 years and have enjoyed growing exponentially as an artist. Throughout that time, I have worked with several film companies, government officials, and have been featured multiple times in Fort Wayne Weddings magazine. For the past year, I have been the featured makeup artist for Matilda Jane Clothing’s catalog and website. As much as I love being on-set and behind the scenes, nothing can replace the feeling of making a bride happy on her wedding day! It is such an honor for me to have your trust on one of the biggest days of your life! Seeing the happiness in your eyes when you look into the mirror is one of the many reasons I love my job so much. I am so proud to be a full-time makeup artist and eyelash technician to keep you feeling your absolute best. I look forward to a long future with The Red Stiletto and continuing my education in the career I love; a career that allows me to help others become the most beautiful version of themselves.
While I was growing up, I was always told that I should be a hairstylist. I loved cutting all of my baby dolls’ and Barbies’ hair and styling my sister and cousins. I always brushed everyone’s opinion off and never considered it as a possible career path until my senior year of high school. I was graduating a semester early with plans to start college in the fall. That is, until I saw Rudae’s had a class starting at the beginning of February. I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and I realized that it would be the perfect opportunity. It combined all the things that I loved – creativity, business, helping others, and I wouldn’t have to wait to several months to start.
In cosmetology school, I really found my passion to be hair color; and not just one color. I love multiple colors; highlights, balayage, and baby lights, are all my obsession. I love creating shiny and dimensional blondes, brunettes and redheads.
I’ll always have the latest and greatest techniques to wow you in my back pocket. Research and continuing education have been a huge part of my growth as a stylist, and I believe you can never know too much about something. When I started at The Red Stiletto, I knew a big part of my job would be event hair styling, but I never imagined how much I would fall in love with it. From whimsical side braids and glamorous vintage waves to edgy faux hawks and sleek chignons, I’ve mastered them all.
My work has been featured on the cover of Fort Wayne Weddings magazine. I’ve styled the Matilda Jane holiday catalog and an article in First for Women magazine, along with many fashion shows and charity events. But, the most special event I get to be a part of is your wedding day. It means so much that you’re trusting me with, quite possibly, the most special hairstyle you’ll ever have.
I think what my clients value the most, is that I’m very open and honest with them. I take the time to listen not only to what they want, but also to learn about their lifestyle. This ensures that the look they want is not only going to be the most flattering on them, but will also be the ideal amount of maintenance to compliment that lifestyle. I make sure that every guest who sits in my chair knows exactly how to recreate their style at home, so that they can look like they walked out of the salon every day.
I want every guest to feel relaxed, pampered, understood, and listened to. Listening has become my absolute favorite part of any appointment. I love finding out how I can make your dream hair a reality, but even more than that, I want to know YOU because you’re what makes my job special and makes me look forward to coming to work everyday. Our salon’s catch phrase, “how can I make you happy?” has become the foundation of everything I do in the salon, and I would love the opportunity to make you not just happy, but ecstatic and in love with your hair.
My love of beauty started in middle school! I was constantly glued to my computer watching makeup tutorials on YouTube for hours and hours. I would practice different makeup looks on myself with products that I “borrowed” from my mother's makeup bag. I was obsessed with creating fun and unique looks that would make me feel beautiful inside and out.
Since then, my passion for the cosmetic industry has grown even more. Directly after high school, I attended Cosmetology school and earned my Esthetics license and even graduated as Salutatorian of my class.
I started my career working as a makeup assistant, alongside two talented makeup artists and have completed makeup looks for a few hundred amazing guests over the past 2 years. I enjoy meeting each and every guest and exploring what look they wish to achieve. It’s so fun to give them the best tips and tricks along the way so if they wish, they can do a similar look at home. Makeup has boundless options and I love changing someone's look to suit their mood or event. For this reason, I strive to continue my education and stay on top of makeup trends and styles.
What makes me unique as a makeup artist is that I work diligently to build trust with my guests. I like to explain the process throughout the makeup application so that you can understand certain techniques, colors, and finishes. I love digging deep to find what is going to make you happy in the end and my goal is always that you look in the mirror with the biggest smile on your face.
I believe everyone has their own natural beauty and we are meant to enhance it, not cover it. Everyone has different skin tones, types, and different preferences on makeup. This is why each look will always be geared towards your goals and no two looks will ever be the same.
The most rewarding part of my career is being told I made someone feel beautiful. It is the greatest gift in the world knowing that you are happy and ready for your big day. I can’t wait for the opportunity to meet so many of you and to build wonderful relationships. Book with me and indulge in The Red Stiletto experience!
All my life I’ve loved exploring creative outlets. I tried everything you can think of, from singing and dancing to drawing and writing. But ever since I learned how to braid, I knew I wanted to be a hairstylist. After high school I attended The Salon Professional Academy and discovered a love for special occasion styles, coloring, and connecting with my guests.
Before starting my journey as a cosmetologist, I was a musician for 9 years and participated heavily in marching band, concert band, and literally every other band activity you can think of. Music is still a huge part of my life today and inspires me to create. In my free time, you can find me painting, attending music events, and shopping for whatever strikes my eye.
I’ve always known that I wanted to spend my life helping people and what a better way than to help them relax and feel beautiful? Hairstyling is my passion because I love how many different looks I can create while making people feel their best. I love listening and learning about my guests and fulfilling the ‘salon therapist’ role. When you’re in my chair, I strive to care about you and your hair, like it’s my own.
Let’s get the good vibes rolling! Schedule an appointment with me and let’s get to creating beautiful hair!
Oftentimes, people stumble into their career path. They find it along the way or by accident, but not me. I have known that I wanted to be in the beauty industry for a long time. I can remember my mom asking me to put on her lashes when I was 8 years old or my friends asking me to do their hair for the next school dance when I was a teenager.
In high school, I decided that I wanted to be the woman that makes other women feel amazing about themselves. I wanted to be the woman that can make transformations a reality and I wanted to be the woman with a profile filled with happy clients. This passion is what pushed me to start attending Cosmetology school the end of my sophomore year.
Since that first day of Cosmetology school, I realized the actual impact I have on the people in my chair and the impact they have on me. Even though that was over 5 years ago, I haven't stopped being a student. I continuously expand on my education to improve on my techniques to help you create your desired results. Giving you the tools, confidence and knowledge to love your hair again is what keeps me going!
What I love most about my career, is the flexibility I have to plan my days. I enjoy adventurous family road trips and exploring my city. Being in an appointment-based salon, allows me to prioritize my time and days so I can give the best of me to you. I enjoy having people who live with intention and style in my chair and I believe everyone can design and live a life that they love. My mission is to help you do just that by creating looks that truly complement your lifestyle and aspiring hair goals.
Once you get to know me, you’ll realize how I implement gratitude in my everyday life. I actually have a whole journal dedicated to daily gratitude. One thing I know we all can be grateful for is Earth. I mean, we all live on it right? All the products I use will be certified organic botanical-based products; no fillers, sulfates, or junk. As someone who is really conscience of what goes into and onto my body, I know what to avoid that can be problematic for your hair and health. High quality, nourishing products are what we all deserve, and I welcome you to experience them!
If you're looking for an experience tailored to your needs, then I invite you to the salon. Give us a call and I hope to see you soon!
My love for all things beauty started all the way back in middle school. I was the friend who always did other's makeup before a school dance or date.
Despite my love for the industry, I began college with plans of being a radiology technician. After a few advanced science classes, I realized that I didn't have the passion for the material I was studying. I graduated with an Associate's in General Studies and went on to Cosmetology school. This was the first time that I was excited to see where my career was headed.
I've always known that I didn't want a boring 9-5 office job. I wanted a career in which I would have a new task or challenge each day. Being a hairstylist, gives me that challenge, along with the ability to help others feel confident and beautiful.
I worked as a Starbucks Barista while I was in school and while the environment was fast paced, I didn't enjoy working in such a tight space day in and day out. I wanted more.
I found The Red Stiletto and loved that they were so much more than a typical salon. They provided speciality styling services and traveled on-location. This was the perfect fit in my mind and I'm so happy to be here!
Building my clientele has been such a fun experience. I always try to build a relationship and learn about my guest's personal life. I'm always upfront and honest and won't be satisfied until we reach our desired end goal!
When I'm not at the salon, you can usually find me hanging with my 4 cats and watching a good "period piece" on Netflix or HBO. Reign and Outlander are some of my favorites!
And because I know you'll ask, an Iced Chai with Oak Milk is my favorite drink from Starbucks.
So, schedule an appointment with me and let's catch up on the latest tv drama and create some beautiful hair together!
