I am the founder, operator, and lead makeup artist of The Red Stiletto. I have been in the beauty and entertainment industry since the age of three and I always knew that I wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself; and being a business owner is just that!
I worked hard to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatrical Performing Arts, an Associate’s Degree in Business Management, and a Professional Modeling Certification. So, I genuinely do understand what it’s like on both sides of the camera.
While in college, I started working for Mac Cosmetics and my business grew organically, as clients started approaching me for services outside of the counter. That’s when I knew; this was it! I was truly destined for a career in the beauty industry.
I am now a Certified Airbrush Makeup Artist and was lucky enough to be 1 of just 10 students to complete a course instructed by Celebrity Makeup Artist Cory Bishop. Cory has traveled the world working with magazines, celebrities, and numerous designers. These include: Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Catherine Zeta Jones, Rene Zellweger, and Victoria’s Secret; just to name a few.
Since then, I have been the featured makeup artist for several magazines and catalogs; including Wedding Day, First for Women, Fort Wayne Wedding, Matilda Jane, and Shindigs and Stumps Party; among others. I was also the chosen makeup artist for the America’s Next Top Model auditions Cycle 16.
I believe that true beauty is on the inside and that the way we look should be a reflection of that. I’m all about clean palettes with pops of color and fun additions. Makeup should highlight your best features, but not overtake them.
I am blessed to say that this is my full-time job, while so many others in the industry just freelance in their spare time. I contribute my success to really taking an interest in my clients and getting to know them. The more connected we are, the easier it is to bring their inner personality to the surface. Then, I can create a look, just for them, that showcases their best self.
Not only do I have extensive knowledge in make-up application, I also have training in flash photography, stage lighting, and filmography. This allows my team and I to create beautiful and unique looks no matter what the occasion. You will look flawless in your photos/videos and stunning at your event.
Nothing brings me more joy then to put my creative skills to work and place the finishing touches on the start of your special day. Keep reading below to learn all about my amazing senior team!
Creativity has sparked inside of me since I was very young. As a child, I was involved in many shows, recitals, and events. My favorite part was always having my hair and makeup styled. As I became older, I began styling my own hair and makeup for special events and was able to finally connect with my true natural talent. I was compelled to earn my cosmetology license and I graduated from Masters of Cosmetology in 2006.
Since, I continue to learn and take classes on all of the new techniques and trends to make those in my chair feel and look their absolute best. My favorite part of my career is having the ability to turn someone’s day around by making them feel special and beautiful. I strive to not only give someone the hair they wish they were born with, but to also educate them with the knowledge of how to maintain their look at home between visits.
I lead the busy life of a mom and I know how important, relaxing, and rejuvenating a trip to the salon can be. I pledge to give each of my guests an indulgent and uplifting experience.
Every woman has her own definition of beauty. Each of us is unique and should feel beautiful inside and out. I strive to bring that personal definition of beauty out in every one of my clients. From the organic “no make-up” look, to the dramatic and glamorous look, I use my passion for beauty to bring out the best in whomever I am working with. I earned my Cosmetology license and graduated as Salutatorian of my class in 2010 and went on to achieve my certification as a Master International Make-Up Professional in 2013.
Most recently, I earned my Mac Cosmetics Makeup Artist Certification and I work with Mac part time, when I am not beautifying clients at The Red Stiletto.
The beauty industry has always fascinated me, along with make-up itself. It can quickly transform the way someone looks and feels. Over the last few years, I personally have spent hours in front of the mirror, with make-up, working to define what beauty is to me. I have used magazines and television to also develop my skills. I have had the opportunity to work at The Red Stiletto for the past 5 years and have enjoyed growing exponentially as an artist. During this time, I have styled over 250 events. I look forward to a long future with them and continuing my education in the career I love; a career that allows me to help others become the most beautiful version of themselves.
I have a deep respect for the Earth and its protection. Growing up immersed in nature has instilled me with a sense of importance for using only all-natural, non-toxic products. This is not only for the health and well-being of my guests, but also for the benefit of our planet. This understanding has been furthered by my involvement in the lives of those suffering from cancer. As the daughter of an oncology and chemotherapy nurse, I have spent many hours volunteering with individuals who are affected by cancer. It is because of this, that I am hyper aware of the risk toxins can have on each of us. I am so proud to be a part of a team that supports a toxin- free environment.
My goal as a stylist is to educate my guests, so they feel comfortable and assured that they are receiving the best care and service possible. Each guest that sits in my chair will leave well-versed in how to achieve their dream hairstyle at home. It is my pledge that each guest leaves feeling beautiful and confident with a look they love.
